We have tours available for every season and are happy to accommodate groups of all sizes. Our tours are designed for students from kindergarten through third grade. We also offer customized tours for preschool, primary school, high school, adult, birthday or corporate groups. Please provide group information when booking so we can tailor the tour to your needs. Our minimum group size is 25 people, and the maximum is 80 people. Great Lakes Farms can host groups of up to 120 participants; feel free to contact us before booking a tour. 

If you have a smaller group or cannot find available dates or times, please email us, and we will do our best to help you find a spot.

Tour Details

Tours typically last 1.5 to 2 hours and are run twice daily, starting at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

STUDENTS: $13.50 + TAX

SCHOOL Faculty: Free

Bus Driver: Free

Chaperones:  One free for every four students. Additional parents are $13.50 + tax.

Important Details

  • Tours are available on weekdays.
  • Outdoor picnic space is available if the weather is suitable
  • Students are to remain under the supervision of teachers and supervisors at all times
  • Multiple grades may be accommodated on transportation costs
  • Tours are tailored to grades/ages and will need to be separated 
  • Come dressed for the weather

Our fall tours are run from September through October, and spring tours are run from May through June each school year. Based on the fruit in season, you can expect the following curriculum-focused activities. 

Fall Farm Tours

Apple School Tour

Students learn about an apple's life cycle and the proper picking technique. Each teacher will receive a bag of apples picked by the class.

Pumpkin School Tour

Students learn about the life cycle of a pumpkin. The class receives a pumpkin to take back to the school. Every child receives a mini pumpkin.




Spring Farm Tours

Spring Planting and Strawberry School Tour

Students learn what a busy time the Spring is for the farm, and help Farmer Joe with the spring planting. They will learn about the life cycle of strawberries. Every student takes home their own planted seed or strawberries when in season.
